Our contact with Compassion sent us photos of the progress on Dalton's house. When I saw the photos, I stared at them for days. I stared in awe of the progress, and of the life change that this house will mean for a family across the world. As we talked about the photos, Tim said its one of his favorite things he has ever been a part of. I agree. And as I stare at the photos, I can't stop thinking of all the beauty they hold. And how I long to go and meet Dalton and his mom, and walk into their new house one day. But, until I can go, I am so thankful I have these photos to stare at.
I stare at the very simple red brick. The same red brick my house growing up had, has never looked so beautiful. The African men working on the house. The fact that they were given the opportunity for this job and this work, and that this could have also helped their family for this season. Beautiful. The city of Kampala below. Beautiful. The fact that Dalton and his family will have a new home, and no longer be in danger when it rains.
