First Sunday of Advent

I'm a classic, white lights kind of girl. My husband is passionate about about his love for colored lights. I usually give in and do colored lights. I don't want to deprive him since Christmas is also his birthday. That's right. My husband's birthday is also Christmas day.

Lights are a major part of Christmas. Our neighborhood and city streets light up the entire month of December. Our homes are filled with lights from our trees and garland.

Over 2000 years ago, a baby was born in a manger to bring light to a dark world.

We celebrate this arrival and anticipation of his birth during this season of Advent.

Advent means coming. The season of preparing and anticipating for Jesus.

Advent means coming. The season of preparing and anticipating for Jesus.

I hope you will join me in making room this Christmas season for the greatest gift we have been given. The gift of life. The gift of hope.

Let us rejoice as we celebrate this gift.
